An analytic description of ProjectExpert: An instructional reading program for ninth grade vocational students

A significant number of ninth-grade students still struggles with proficiently comprehending texts. Moreover, their increasingly lowering motivation to read is alarming. Various educational interventions designed enhance reading comprehension and/or are available in the scientific field. However, a detailed description its underlying principles frequently lacking. This could provide genuine opportunities for replication, theory building, and dissemination into practice. Therefore, main goal present study offer an analytic, rigorous, instructional program aimed at fostering vocational students' comprehension, strategy use, autonomous motivation, named ProjectExpert. The context, theoretical empirical grounding, macro micro-level design will be outlined, based on framework Bouwer De Smedt (2018). ProjectExpert entails four principles: (1) Text goal-directed.
